Fully 5 inches wide and nearly as high, these flowers offer wide pink “guard” petals in a nice skirt along the bottom, topped with a frilly mass of pink, cream, and white shorter petals. Such a unique confection. The blooms begin in late spring in most climates, and if cut young and kept in a cool room with fresh water, they will last for several weeks.

Sorbet Peony is a compact peony, tall, with 3 distinct layers of pastel color. Ideal for cutting (they are very long-lasting), they 3 feet tall and 2½ feet wide, with excellent branching and heavy budding. Sorbet Peony stands up to rough weather beautifully, making it a great choice for the border and woodland settings. In most climates it loves full sun, but in the south and west, it appreciates a bit of afternoon shade.
