Huge bloomstalks appear in summer and remain into fall, opening white and then turning pink. And the oakleaf-shaped foliage that gives this shrub its name begins green, but turns red and burgundy for autumn. Talk about multiseason interest.

These tall, thick wands arise all over the well-branched shrub, pointing up and out and simply packed with florets.
